Ice and rock
A couple photographs from today's trek to the river.
For the past couple of months I've been out photographing along a nearby river. I didn't start out with any intentions other than to get out and photograph. I set out on a rainy day not sure what to expect. When I reviewed the images on my computer later that day I knew I had something, although just a beginning. Since then I've kept heading back to various points on that river to photograph and the series I had not intended is now nearly 40 images strong. Many more of course but only about 40 worthy of including in a series.
These images are long exposures allowing the river to transform into a smooth velvet like surface. I am mostly focusing on specific larger rocks within the river. Some smaller outlets of this river flow through darker areas which provide conditions for moss to grow on the rocks. These are my favorites.
I will continue to post images here and on my instagram account as this series progresses.
