The New Hampshire coast is an hour ride from where I currently live. I was up at 4:00 a.m. this morning to make it in time for sunrise in Portsmouth. It's always worth it even if getting up is difficult. There is a feeling that can't be explained when the first sight of an orange glow paints it's light on whatever is in it's path. Today, where the fishing docks and shanty's meet the Pisquataqua River's edge glowed intensely in this morning's first light.
A trip to the ocean is never complete without driving coastal route 1a from Rye to Hampton. I stopped in Rye and hiked out onto the rocks and down to the tide pools still filled from a recent high tide.
